Aftercare and Photo Acknowledgment

What the client was given and agreed to afterwards: the cleaning routine, when to come back, and whether the work may be photographed.

Where this comes from

Not a sample we wrote for this page. This is the document the product puts in your account, as a draft, the moment you say what you do.

Name your trade during setuptattoo and piercing studiosand this is waiting for you, already written, in your words, with the blanks marked and the points a lawyer settles flagged for one. Edit it, or paste in what you already use. It is a starting point and not legal advice: the wording is yours to change and your attorney's to check.

How this works for tattoo and piercing studios

What it asks you to fill in

Read off the document itself, so this list cannot drift away from what the document actually asks for.

business name · guest name · procedure · date · artist name · cleaning products · minimum wear period · studio phone · touch up terms · photo permission

10 blanks. They are filled once per send, from what you already know or from your own system through the API. They go into the document; they do not change its wording, and what somebody signed is the version they were shown.

What a lawyer has to settle

These are the notes already written into the document, not our opinion about the law where you operate. The product refuses to send a document with one still in it, which is the point of them.

check what a right-of-publicity or likeness statute where you operate requires a release to say, and whether a withdrawal has to be honoured for material already published.

SignSealer does not give legal advice and this document is not legal advice. What it does is put the questions in front of you before somebody signs, rather than after.

The document

The real text, with the blanks shown as blanks and the notes above lifted out so they are read rather than skimmed past.

business nameguest name, procedure done on date by artist name.

1. What I was given. Written aftercare instructions for this procedure, and the chance to ask about them. A copy is attached to this record.

2. The first two weeks. I will wash my hands before touching the area, follow the cleaning routine I was given with cleaning products, keep the area out of pools, hot tubs, lakes and the sea, keep it out of direct sun or covered, and not pick, scratch or peel it.

3. Jewellery. If this is a piercing, I will leave the jewellery in for at least minimum wear period and have the studio change it the first time. Changing it early or using unsuitable jewellery is the most common cause of a piercing failing.

4. When to come back. I will contact the studio on studio phone if the area is hot, increasingly painful after the first days, discharging yellow or green, red in spreading lines, or if I have a fever — and I will see a doctor as well, because the studio cannot treat an infection.

5. Touch-ups. The studio's touch-up policy is touch up terms. A result affected by aftercare, sun, swimming or picking is not covered by it.

6. Photographs of the work. Whether business name may photograph the finished work and where it may show it is set here: photo permission. Photographs are of the work, identifiable only as far as the placement makes them so, and a decision to say no changes nothing about the service. I may withdraw this permission in writing, and the studio will stop using new photographs and remove what it reasonably can.

7. Reviews and reposts. If I post about the work, business name may reshare my public post unless I say otherwise.

By signing I confirm that I have read this, understood it, and meant to sign it.
